The Family Dude

For the past two weeks my younger brother has been going through a strange phase. I have no idea what to make of it. His behaviour is abnormal, and quite frankly, I am disturbed. He's the type that will go out and party with his friends, come home, sleep, and then party some more. It's not exactly a productive way to live, but it is a pattern and there is stability in that pattern. Through some miracle he has broken the pattern overnight. It is as if he went into his room, twirled in circles whilst changing into a red spandex suit with the letters FD in electric blue stamped on his chest, and so he has successfully become the Family Dude.

The Family Dude, isn't just any dude. No, Family Dude hangs out at home, cleans house, washes dishes, talks to mom, goes shopping with mom. Family Dude asks his mom to call his beloved sister at work to invite her and her child to dinner......everyday. Family Dude rents movies with mom, and takes them back with her, and rents some more. When his kind and generous big sis comes over for dinner he asks her how was work and engages her in small talk as he pours her some pop in a glass with ice. When they finish eating, Family Dude clears the table and tells his sweet big sis about the movies he rented. Family Dude even makes popcorn and serves some for everyone in little bowls. But that's not all, he also serves the drinks and sometimes he'll have some already in the freezer! Family Dude also pauses the movie if you have to get up and get something, and he'll even offer to get if for you.

Now there have been times where I cannot be over for dinner, and this devastates Family Dude. He does however retaliate, and gets his ally to cook something incredibly delicious the next day. So delicious that big sis and her daughter cannot resist.

I had blamed the phase on the lunar eclipse, but that has long passed. Family Dude is fun, and I have not been feeling well, so his antics are a welcome distraction. I told his ally in secret that she should spend as much time as she can with him, and she has. My mom and Family Dude are inseperable. My mom, dad and Family Dude even voted together yesterday morning! Still, there are those villains that want to bring Family Dude down to just being a dude. The phone rings incessantly......yet, Family Dude ignores the calls or turns the phone off!!!!

Anyhow, for now the Family Dude Saga continues, same bat time, same bat channel. I cannot give you anymore info other than that, you'll just have to stay tuned.
