We want to find something in someone else so badly, that we imagine it's there. That when they tell us it is there and they are those things we desire, we believe every word that they say. I've heard and read many people's opinion on online dating. And, I have been part of that band-wagon that said: "You can see so much of a person through their writing" or "It's hard to hide who you are inside on paper." Take me back a couple months ago, and I would have stood by those comments, I would have defended them and shot down every argument against them. But not today. I have thought about this and here is my conclusion:
You can see so much of a person through their writing, but only to a certain extent. Instead of seeing who they really are, you are seeing who they want to be, who they could be, an ideal of who they are. What most people portray in their writing is a dramatic mirage of who they feel they were or could be, but not who they are at present.
It is hard to hide who you are inside on paper....maybe. I do believe it is, but are we on the outside who we are on the inside? Can who we are inside find the way through the clutter that is our own self-serving emotions on the outside? I doubt it. People say what sounds nice, what could be true, what ought to be. But, they don't always say what just is. Why? because being straighforward and honest takes balls. No one wants to admit that they were, are or will be the bad guy.
Why the rant? I'm just sick of the bullshit, no really, I'm damn tired of it. Life's too short to not be straight-forward, say what you mean and mean what you say, otherwise you really are a worthless piece of shit getting in everybody else's way.

Interesting observation.
Human beings are hard to understand, for better or for worse.
There is only a few out there walking with their faces to the sun when everyones is in a mascarade.
